Hi guys, can anybody tell me if i need a radio code/ vin# when replacing my old radio with another radio from same year/model A4? I called the local Audi dealer and they dont know, nor do any of the guys in my local VW/Audi car group. All the dealer did was to offer to install for $85.00.....My car is a 2003 A4 and the other radio is from a 02/03. I dont have the vin# from donor car at this time. Thanks!

The radio will want the code entered before it will work. Audi Of America will give you the code over the phone. You'll need the radio serial number (AUZxxx) from the side of the head unit. AOA will also want a VIN#. Truth is it doesn't matter what vin# you give them, they just need one to enter into the system with the inquiry.
