Unhappy Trunk won't open/Plate light flickering

    Hello,

So today after coming home from work I tried opening my trunk with my key remote and got no response. The lights flashed when I pushed down on the button but nothing happened. The button on the driver door does nothing as well. I made sure the valet mode was off. I had to crawl in through the back seat and release the trunk with the emergency handle on the inside. Another weird thing is that when I finally got it open the plate lights cut off completely once the trunk lid goes fully open, I lowered it half way and the lights come back on, I don't know if both problems have to do anything with each other but I thought it was a bit odd. Is my fuse bad or my trunk actuator? Any help would be great thanks!

Did you check if your trunk is part of central locking in your car settings

You may have an intermittent problem with the ground between the decklid and the body sheet metal. Both the decklid latch and the license plate lamps are grounded through a wire between the decklid and the body of the car, not through the hinge itself.

You can try wiggling the wire harness while the decklid is open to see if wiggling it affects the license lamp. If so, you've located the problem.
