    Prestige or Premium plus?

Hey guys, former B8.5 owner here. I had to trade and get a 7 seater SUV due to in-laws moving in. I then gave the 2016 MDX to my wife because it was her dream car and took over her Lexus ES 350. Great car but its a family sedan, luxury Camry lol. I'm looking to get a used 2013 S4. Here's the question, is the Prestige model used worth 2k over a premium plus? I went on Audiusa to configure but packages might be different for a 2013. Thanks in advance

It depends on what you want. All other things being equal, I would save the $2K unless you want the autonomous driving/nanny tech.

Not sure its worth that much more on the used car market.

Also wasn't worth it to me. (I saved $4k and 7k miles)

If you get a P+ just make sure you get the sports diff, B&O and MMI package.

Only notable thing really missing is driver assist which is nice but, not worth the extra $$$$.
Take the extra money you saved and put it to some mods

Edit: As per steering, I drove both more or less back to back. I could tell the difference cycling through the drive modes but, in the end I just leave my P+ in dynamic and enjoy it. Then again, I don't track the car nor am I very picky coming from a Honda Civic so...

There really is not much different except for the adaptive lighting. Everything else is an option. However, if you are buying used I've found that the prestige ones tend to come with more goodies. I wanted Nav, B&O, sport differential which was hard to find on a P+. P+ models tend to have less options, but not a rule. That being said, I kinda wanted the prestige anyhow due to being the higher trim line. Maybe i'm elitist? Also, regarding the 2k difference it will not translate exactly into the used market. best is to run KBB or NADA guides to see the value of each and decide if you care about the difference in cost.

A heavily optioned Prem+ car will probably not be priced much differently from a nicely equipped Prestige . As said before, you could option out a Prem+ to have the same options as a Prestige except for the headlights. And no one thinks the upgraded headlights are a must have. A nicely equipped Prem+ car could have been had for $55k or so. A fully loaded Prestige could have had a MSRP north of $62K. So it really depends on the car and the options. A used S4 will not reflect most of the additional cost of a Prestige. The quintessential S4 has Sport Dif, Nav , B&O radio`. Everything else is gravy. On a used car, mileage and condition are probably more important.

Different headlights? I thought they were the same? The premium plus I'm looking at is 5k miles more than the Prestige as well.

    ^This.

I bought a '15 Prestige S4 and think (I could be wrong) the adaptive headlights were the only option not available on P+ cars. I thought adaptive headlights would be really cool, but they are only really noticeable on poorly lit back roads and I am generally on well-lit suburban/urban roads.

I would look for a car with your preferred transmission, sports diff, B&O, and NAV (better MMI), and not worry about P+/Prestige.

Both are correct. However in the 15 and 16 the prestige gave an extra incentive for the tech package that was not available to the P+. made the jump to Nav and B&O cheaper on the prestige than the option on the P+. but that really doesn't factor in, the true difference is the adaptive headlights like noted above. Honestly I don't like them as it's making it harder to upgarde my lights. But still, i like having the prestige more :P get the options you want, disregard P+ or prestige.

I agree with this guy, if you make sure to have the sports diff, side assist, MMI + backup camera, and B&O then you've got your bases covered.

When I bought my 2014 new, I went with a Prem+ version with the items listed above. I don't miss anything else in the Prestige.

Definitely get the nav, cam and b&o. I just leased a 2016 prem + without those features and regret it. Had it on my a4 and didn't think I would miss it , but there are so many extra little features of the better mmi then basic one. Having sports diff makes up for some of the regret but not all of it.
