I can't speak to "best," but a lot of guy run Solo Werks coils and are happy with them. They're way under $1000.

I recommend STx coilovers...made, valved and tested by KW in Germany right next to $2500 coils.

The SoloWerks Coil overs are awesome! I have them on my B8.5 Allroad. I put them on last summer and I'm still loving them.

Be ready to open a can of worms. I had mine replaced with KW V2 but the installations are all the same. Since the car was lowered, then you gotta have a wheel alignment. That's were the complications started. The OEM upper control arm is not adjustable, so the camber will be off if you decided to lower the car below the OEM height. You can leave it like that but be prepared to spend more for uneven tire wear. If you decided to fix the camber to be in specs, then you have to get an adjustable upper control arm. There are several brands and some are rebadge of SPC. So therefore I had mine replaced with the adjustable upper control arm and now my camber and other measurements are within Audi's specs. But wait there is more. Now the upper control arm is hitting the inner part of the body and it doesn't sound good. In fact it sounded horrible as if the whole suspension will fall apart. Did more research and found out that there are specific steps to take when installing this adjustable control arm plus banging/folding/cutting those exposed inner body metal. But at the end of the day, I really like the final results. If I knew in advance all these complications, maybe I will have some second thoughts.

BC RACING.... such a nice ride. May be a little more than your willing to pay but I mean if you bought an Audi you should be putting higher end parts on it.... But hey thats just my 2 cents.
