Heads up display (HUD) forgets MMI settings

Seems I have gremlins screwing with my HUD.

I set what info I want on HUD, speed, nav, and lane assist, and it shows all just fine, works great. After car has been parked for an hour, all of them, but speed disappear of the display, and the checkmarks are gone from MMI.

It works just fine after I renable them again in MMI, but they disappear after parking.

    Any ideas?

I reset MMI to factory settings few weeks ago when I bought the car, I have not tried since I have seen the problem. I will try that, thanks for the advice.

    Do you have memory-seats?
The HUD settings are stored when storing your seat position (along with mirror settings).

Try setting everything up as you want it, and then store your settings (by storing your seat position).

First lve heard of any connection between HUD settings and memory seats! All the user selectable HUD options are within the MMI system.

Some of the HUD items you mention are not "always on"

i.e. You will only get Nav, if your running Nav, and Lane Assist defaults to off after a short period with the engine off and you have to reselect it.

On my S7 l think its about 15 minutes of engine off time, after which the factory defaults kick in. Bit like ACC, you can select your cruising optons and distance, but they all default after a set period of engine off time.

Did you use the same key fob, when you saw that they were missing. A lot of options are saved and attached to the current key fob in use.

The NAV-stuff will only appear in the HUD when the NAV is active. Anyways...I urge you to try this out, because this is how it works on my car (A7 S-Line 2011).

This also applies to keyfob's, because you can have the car remember different settings for different keyfob's.

(I do not have lane-assist, so can't answer for that...)

settings are still check marked and did not disappear since reset 5/15. So far so good, but no real root cause which sucks. Damn software bugs.
