    Cool New short ram intake!!!!!

    Hi guys,

just finished a intake swap. Took out the stock air box that was muffling the supercharger whine.

Switched to an Injen SP intake. I bought it for $250 new and couldnt be happier. The sound from within the cabin is pretty limited because of my exhaust. But from the outside... it sound glorious!! anyways, check out the vid

The work was easy.. even for a newbie to mods like myself. It took myself and my buddy like 45 mins. Neither of us have experience working on cars and so just needed to be careful. But the result is great. I highly recommend this intake.

Nice but you could of gotten a new CTS for 280 on sale and it looks way better than that. That's a nice stretch of road btw.

Maybe.. but this intake was always put in comparison with Roc Euro, USP, etc. Thats how i got to know about it. I like it, sounds better and looks better in person as well.

The road is really nice.. it was built a few years ago and it's barely used. perfect for doing nice pulls, launch controls. one down side is that the police station is literally couple hundred yards away lol.

I have both and the injen is a bit better in finish. The injen uses high quality amsoil filters and the tube is bigger and nice and smooth and well finished. I like them both but I wouldn't say the cts is necessarily better quality. They both have their pros and cons imo.

I was merely talking looks here. That thing looks like crap imo. I had the CTS too and would say it looks way better.

I apologize for being so blunt, I understand you're going for function and not looks here. It's just an opinion but why didn't you spring for that nice black one? I'm not sure about the prices for the Injen. The last time I had an Injen intake was way back in 93 on my civic. Lol

Eh it's fine. The website I went through to get it only had this finish available and it was $100 less than places like ese tuning or elsewhere and shipped real fast.

I actually really like the look of that silver set up - I'm not interested in an intake but fwiw I think it looks good.

I've had mine for about 9 months. I added wrap around one of the hoses just in case rubbing was an issue. Only thing I wonder is the filter cleaning. Injen just says to tap out dirt and vacuum, but I feel like there should be more to it.

I went with the black one. Then I had the lid powder coated satin black. Finally, I painted the new screws with black bumper paint.

The thing I like about it is because it's a bit quieter and has the protection offered by the bottom of the stock airbox. My dealer doesn't care about it since the only extra chance of water intrusion are the couple of slots at the top. If water got so high that the top becomes a weak point, I'd definitely be SOL!!

Not sure if it's oiled or dry but k&n makes a filter cleaning kit. I've always tapped them out and rinsed with water from the inside out and let dry, then oil if necessary.

stage 2 is in the mail but I went ahead and added to the sig a little early :) as of now no intake but at some point in the future I'll probably go w/ a cts or roc. I've never been a fan of of intakes as I have always experienced heat soaking but obviously w/ this car and stage 2 it makes a little more sense plus the sound.
