    milk on the oil cap

oil level sensor went off this morning and it was actually correct this time, oil was a bit low, topped it off with some Ravenol 5w-50 i had lying around.
noticed a bit of the dreaded milkiness on the inside of the oil cap
im chalking it up to condensation, had a major temp drop here in CO overnight

but, where are the places coolant can get into the crankcase other than the head gasket?

i do know of a leaky thermo housing and i found some dried coolant buildup on the back passenger side of the engine, (have to watch this one some more, looked newish)
i also know that the driver side turbo is passing a little more oil than it should as well.

FWIW, im about to roll 214k, still boosting along
    Rockin' the Rockies
'01 allroad, 250k woot woot, still boosting on original turbos and tippy, slightly modified. . .

    I'd agree with the condensation.

Coolant leak on the back of the engine, might be the cross pipe o rings. Those are fun

Im curious to know of any other spots for coolant contamination as well, other than a serious problem such as a cracked block. Typically you should see the mixture in your coolant as well, or not necessarily?

There's the oil cooler. It's the aluminum "block" that sits directly underneath the oil filter. It has coolant lines running into it. Keep an eye on your coolant if you suspect that's where the moisture is coming from. If the level changes or you find oil in your radiator/reservoir you've definitely got a leak somewhere. A competent mechanic can do a pressure test for you pretty quick to tell if you have fluid transfer between the two systems. Good luck!

I would pressure test the cooling system if you think you have a leak.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, you should see the gunk that built up in my PCV valve from condensation.
