X pipe mod on downpipe resonators

Can the x-pipe mod be used on the downpipe resonators?
An old thread talked about the big one further back but wasn't clear if the 2 smaller ones can be done.

Is the magnaflow 10790 the right part?

You're free to honestly put it anywhere. People do the X pipe either at the center resonator and keep the downpipes or delete the baby resonators with straight pipe. Or Ive seen it done with the X pipe up at the baby resonators and straight piping to replace the bigger center resonator. I remember reading that the placement did affect exhaust tone and drone in the cabin.

Is your X pipe replacing the big center resonator

or did you place it up front by the baby resonators and go straight pipe at the bigger center.

If I remember, his setup is the following:

    - Magnaflow resonated x-pipe 11385 in place of baby resonators
    - No center resonator
    - No mufflers

Are the baby resonators gone entirely? And only the X pipe up there.

Or the baby resonators present and the X pipe before or after

Thanks for the sound clips! Another newbie question, what does the baby resonator looks like?

Baby resonators = downpipe resonators (2x)

The thread mentioned by spy963 has 40 pages of info on this mod, and should contain videos of the different setups somewhere in there. There's no wrong way to do it, but from what we remember, placing the X where the forward downpipe resonators are seemed to be the more popular route. From a power standpoint, the gas scavenging effect of the X pipe will also work best as close to the engine as possible.

The 10790 is an unresonated X pipe, which can work in a setup like this, but gives a bit more rasp than our widely used resonated X's. Part #11385 will be the smallest resonated X we offer in stock inlet/outlet diameter. If you have any other questions about this, feel free to give us a call or PM.

Do you lose the blip when upshift if you do this mod?
