    2JZ Swap

    Sadly I woke from it

Could you imagine - a 2JZ single turbo [650-700whp (RWD of course)] swap into the B8 S4 Chassis?

Do you think it's even possible? There would be endless amounts of fabircation

The rear diff isn't rated for more than 480ft/lbs I believe. This would be quite the feat

I don't see the point... Put a 20 year old motor in a car that is putting down 11's with a stage 2 tune? Go from AWD to RWD? Huh?

Only motor I would gladly swap with is a VR38...

The 2J was and is an amazing motor. But not for our application IMO

No... just no. This is a 4000lb family sports sedan, better off buying a 240sx or lexus is300 for that.

If really considering an engine swap why not go down the same route as the B5 and go with a turbo VR6? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSyZ5C8aP_E

A guy over on Club Lexus put a 2JZ in his 2nd gen IS. That alone was a disgusting amount of work. I can't imagine putting it in a German car with an entirely different electrical system.

The only swap I would even think about doing to the S4, and I don't even think its possible, is the S6 TFSI twin-turbo. If the S6 wasn't so big, I would have gone that route instead of the S4.

If anyone is thinking about doing this amount of work, why not just build the motor and go single turbo on the 3.0...sure it will be expensive, but nothing compared to an engine swap...

I think most dont find it worth it, myself included. If i want a race toy I will buy one, and keep my s4 that is PERFECT for a DD and the wife can even drive if need be, oh yeah and it can hang with pretty much any car on the road.

I always thought the RS5 with the Nissan GT-R motor would be the ultimate car. Beautiful and balls fast.

2jz is a great engine for any street application, and is one of the greatest tuner engines EVER, so i dont see what it being 20yrs old has to do with anything.

OP, if you need you need to go faster than stage 2 like someone suggested, why not run stage 2 with meth?

I agree 100% on having a simple system to modify without the headaches that come with Frankensteining a car. That being said, I prefer turbos to superchargers as I like the torque curve better and a 4.2L with twins was the best of both worlds. Realistically, It's not something I would undertake but if we are just talking about swaps... I love my S4 and the SC is not that bad.

the 2jz is by far my favorite engine, suckers are reliable too. What about the ones in the is300? they would be newer and were boost friendly but different then what you are talking about. i agree it's not worth it but fun to dream about.

BMW guys have been doing it for years though most of those came with an I6. I would not put it in anything as new as a B8 though.
