    Window Switch Not Working

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
My front-passenger window switch isn't working. I can control (up/down) the window from my master switch, and "window-lock" is not active. The weird thing is that the switch lights up, but doesn't control it. And the motor clearly works since the master can control it... Any ideas??

I m no "old guy" or "diagnosticator" but why not just pull the door card off and replace the switch? Seems rather obvious😷

Yep, my bet is the switch. I had a few of them acting up and bought all of them with a new headlight switch and mirror switch from Amazon for like $30 and they work great.

I replaced the switches a year ago -- granted, I bought them from eBay from a China seller, could that really be the case? lol...

Now I can't control the master window. I didn't hear anything, so I replaced the window motor, but it still doesn't do anything. I am thinking between ordering a new master switch or getting a new door harness (8E1971029C) as the speakers cut in and out and maybe there's some broken wires. Can anyone recommend a seller for master switch?

It could be a CCM issue also. Best bet would be to get someone with vagcom to check and see if your switches are communicating with the CCM.

So I held down the driver's window switch, nothing happened, but it looks like the CCM is recognizing it???

I replaced the door wire harness (8E1971029C) today and it fixed the problem!!! Examining the previous one, one of the wires was cut, and there was a heck of a lot of corrosion on the terminals.
