What is the best fuel system cleaner as I'm just waking up my S5 V8 since winter and I want to run some through with a full tank?

BG44k, Redline SL-1 or Techron, only ones with proven polyether amines , but it will not solve Carbon Buildup on the valves.

BG44k is rumored to not contain any (anymore) but that's just a rumor.

I use either Redline SL-1 or Royal Purple every 5k when i do a oil change. Redline you can get from ECS or even Amazon. Royal Purple i actually put in today with a nice fresh tank of Shell 93. Got the Royal Purple from Walmart for $12 bucks.

BGK44 i heard is good but VERY potent unless they changed it like green mentioned. I just toss in the redline or royal purple, they have about the same good feedback for them working.

If you want to be super OCD picky, Audi has one you can get from Amazon or 034 motorsports called G17, its probably the same thing as the royal purple or redline honestly.

Vanimal the BG44k worked better than the techron. I could notice the difference. I run a bottle every 3 to 4 gas tanks of techron. Bg is hella pricey and a pain to use without the combo funnel

(Used two bottles of Bg over the last 15k miles and each time the throttle respmse and idle is smoother)

I've had great luck with it in my Audi's. Used it in my B5 S4's in the past as well. Walmart usually has it on sale too for a few bucks off via roll back.

You will probably even see a 1-2mpg jump and car run a bit smoother if you haven't used one in a while. I'll usually toss a can of it in every 5k when I do my oil changes.

Full with premium fuel in your area, and take it on a highway run ;)
