Can you upgrade from a non heated wheel to a heated one.

Recently bought a '13 S6 with everything but the cold weathr package, would love know how complicated the swap would be to a heated wheel.

You will need a heated wheel, a clock spring and a wiring harness to the fuse panel. I have the wheel and clock spring but not the wiring.

Is it Air Leather, as that would be ideal. I'll look into the wiring harness, thanks....

It is half Euro pref but I'm not selling it. Just need the wiring to complete the installation.

Good luck with that. I've been looking for an air leather heated wheel for ~ 4 months so far. Best I've found is just to buy new.
Do it right, or don't bother.

It's not worth it, get a flat bottom instead. It only works in a very small section and not the whole wheel, and doesn't warm up very much. The only real benefit of the cold weather package is the heated rear seats, but on a cold day the wheel doesn't do much.

Buying new won't be too bad as I can recoup part of it by selling my old wheel.Just need to make sure the RS6/7 air leather wheel is compatable with my S6.

Honestly, I loved the heated wheel in my A8 as I'm on blood thinners and my hands get cold easily and i'm not a big fan of wearing gloves while driving.

That's interesting. Mine gets really hot all around.

I wished it worked that well, it gets really cold along the lakefront and didn't help me at all. The first winter I had it, I brought it to the dealer and they told me they are all like that, and I even tried other cars. I've heard you can turn up the temp with Vag-Com but I have never tried it. It definitely doesn't work as well as other heated steering wheels, but it does look a lot better than most.

I've turned it up via vag. Big difference from stock.

I bought mine from this eBay seller - http://www.ebay.com/usr/bency_emm?_t...72.m2749.l2754

Based in Lithuania. Excellent feedback - 99.7%. Prices could be lower but they're not brutal.

Thanks. I'll check him out. I've been watching ebay.de but haven't come across any heated yet.
