B7 A4 Tranny swap from Auto CVT Overdrive to anything else?

I have an 08 B7 A4 FWD with the CVT and I was wondering if you can swap the transmission out and drop an AWD rear end and tranny in.

Any issues or is it impossible?

Possible but mucho-mucho Mulah and fab work required.. You're better off selling the FWD and moving on to a Quattro

It cost me roughly $2500 if memory serves me correctly and that was when the platform was relativly still new. Fab work consists of welding 2 small center shaft brackets on the car...

Before the swap I had a 6spd FWD tranny and after the swap I had a 6spd AWD tranny.

    Vizi,
I've just done the swap fwd (cvt) to awd quattro. All is good except the abs and fuel gauge (incorrect meter reading) Did you manage to solve your fuel gauge problem?
