What is the hanging part on my Audi A4 B7? Please help

Hey all,

Recently I serviced my car at a dealership. The belly pan on my car was loose and was touching the ground.
The guys at the dealership repaired it but now there is something hanging from the car (Pic attached).

I called the dealer and asked him about it and he said it's nothing serious and does not need immediate fix.
He wasn't very specific about what it was. Seemed like he wanted to avoid the question and fixing it.

Can anyone of you help me with what this part is, it's function and importance.

Either way, I'd go back to the dealer if you're questioning it and they're close. What he really meant was don't come back anytime soon so we don't need to cover it.

Are you just asking what a belly pan is? It's the plastic tray underneath your engine bay.

Hard to see from the picture, but if that is a metal band that just flops around that is part of what your belly pan bolts to

Yup. It's a metal band.
So i guess it does not have any other significant function than to hold the belly pan.
