    2012 S4 suspension issue -

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Installed H&R sport springs which are too low for me. Looking for either spring spacers (if they could give me a half inch extra height) or read on a forum of another B8 S4 owner installing RS5 suspension. Looking for additional opinions and sources where I could get the RS5 suspension used.
    Thanks

Why not swap out for the H&R OE springs and sell your sport springs? OR is a mild drop but noticeable. Certainly never heard anyone say it's too low, even for those who never lower their cars.

Go with oe. I didn't want to lower but needed to since it looked bad with the lower offset wheels and I love the ride and look.

    This.
OE springs are dirt cheap too. You can sell your Sport springs easily as well. The expense will be labor in swapping them.

BTW - you should really consider upgrading the shocks while you're at it. ESPECIALLY with sport springs.

For sure upgrade the shocks too.

OP-I am in NJ pretty close to you so if you want to meet up and take a ride/look at my setup we could set something up.

H&R sport springs are supposed to have a 1.5" drop, while H&R OE's have a 1.2". Not positive .3" is worth the labor cost. Also, I was not blown away by the H&R sport springs. Nobody commented on the possibility of installing RS5 suspension. Did you see this blog:
    https://dreamingin302ci.blogspot.com...=1463177446895
Contemplating buying them from an RS5 owner swapping out his suspension. Of course, there are risks.
If I were to go H&R OE springs as suggested, what shocks would you recommend that would constitute a real upgrade from the stock S4 shocks?
    Thank you.

OE's are closer to 1" not 1.2", especially on the 3.0T, apposed to say a V8 S5 or RS5 with the heavier motor. Eibach also has a good mild spring that pairs very nicely with a bilstein b8 sport shock, they actually have a full kit.

Nobody really talks about the eibach spring because H&R is a more common name in the German field. But i know people who have ran both the H&R OE and the Eibach on stock shocks and actually prefer the Eibach for ride quality.
