    brake flush w/ESP, VAG-com?

Well I was planning on flushing my brake system this weekend when I replace my pads and rotors, but I'm seeing in the Bently manual that I should be activating my ESP pump for 10 seconds through the use of the VAG com.

Did research and Ross tech seems legit but is a little expensive, maybe an investment but I definitely won't have it in time for this weekend.

So this brings in some questions.

For flushing the brake fluid, is it completely necessary to circulate the ESP pump for 10 seconds? I'm thinking it should be fine considering most people NEVER flush, I just want fresh fluid for when I bed my new brakes and head to the track this summer.

What other options do we have for VAG com other than Ross tech... I currently have a WiFi OBD2 that reads all my codes fine through my iPhone, just no programming. Are there any new apps. what about handheld options?

BONUS - Anyone in Edmonton that would let me borrow their VAG com?

Don't run the master cylinder dry and you shouldn't need to flush the abs pump, that is my understanding at least

interested in replies, I'm redoing my wifes brakes and was going to flush the whole system, i know you can turn on the pump with VAG but have never used it for this.
