    Manual Swap

    Hello,

I lurk the forum very often, and I want to do a manual swap to my BWT 2.0t tip. I have probably read everything there is to know about this swap, and it really does not seem too difficult at all. further down the line i want to do a 2.7t swap, and I want to choose the right transmission to set me up for success in that too. I am not even sure if they can be bolted up to the two different engines, so that is why i am coming to you. Any help is greatly appreciated!

    -Kyle

Clean car but I think you are better off PM'ing vizi about that

Probably the only person on here who has successfully done that? I can't imagine doing that much work....Would just sell and buy manual and then 2.7 swap

Grille is a custom RS6 grille that is trimmed and fitted into an A4 grille surround. Wheels look to be R8 reps, but I'm not certain on that one!

Thank you! It is the rs6 grille on the s-line surround, r8 reps and 18z calipers on h&r coilvers.

Lambrecht - I'm actually surprised to see anyone on here that knows the location! Are you from the Midwest?

It is with a heavy heat that I have to say this.. With what you want to do you would be better off selling that car for a 6spd manual awd car or even a 6spd manual FWD car as you would need to replace everything and do some ecu coding.

for the tip to manual swap you would need firstly to make sure the crank is able to adapt to a manual tranny (flywheel has to be able to bolt up)

You would need a clutch pedal assembly
convert from a tip shifter to a 6spd shifter
    New center shaft
New fuel tank if you don't have a saddle tank already
    AWD Exhaust
    Clutch/flywheel assembly
and the fun coding of the ecu.

Now if you were going from a 6spd FWD to 6spd AWD then that would be the easiest conversion.

Thanks Vizi - I had a feeling you would say that, and I would still like to do a manual swap though. How would I know of my crank is able to be swapped?

Also, which vehicle would you pull the parts from? 2002 - 2003 b6 3.0?

I have a 2008 2.0t Quattro and I am not fully sure which transmission or platform I am seeking out for my search.

I'd have to dig out all the paperwork I have on the swap but I remember I had to make sure the gear ratios were the same from the tranny to the rear diff. The ebaum manual covers what the tranny codes and rear diff codes were and what the gear ratios were for each.

My tranny came from a B7 and my complete rear end came from a B6 and my fuel tank came from a B6 as well as the center shaft.
