Well, shifter feels great but my parking brake won't disengage and says error. Any way to manually release it?

it probably has something to do with the new shifter you installed.

Manual shifter causing electronic brake issues? Doubtful at best.

It's probably something to do with unplugging the switch while the brake was engaged. Needs reset but I don't have software.

Anyway, so is there a manual release anywhere?

The parking brakes are servo driven with no manual release. You may want to try disconnecting the battery and open a door so the dome light may bleed off residual voltage. Reconnect and see if it re initializes. The only way I know to back off the parking brake disconnect the harness at each motor and apply 12 volts to the 2 wires inside. polarity on the two pins determines motor turning direction.

Edit: be sure to just momentarily drive the motor and not leave it connected to the power source.

So use a spare battery and apply a +/- lead to the wires inside? Is there a DIY on this?

It is mentioned in a few of the brake pad change threads.

Also noticed you have APR software. You can do a code clear using that and it may reset as well.

The EPB will auto disengage when you apply the throttle while in drive or reverse.....did you try that?

I know this isn't exactly a DIY but if you get Carista you can do the parking brake motor on/off through your phone.

+1 for @Crucible35 my brake will disengage automatically when you give slight throttle. I do not have AHH (only have the single function switch)

It's a manual, didn't work. Dealer reset it.
