    Timing kits available for BHF

Im thinking of doing the timing job this summer and am in research mode.

What is the best way to get the timing kit these days? Obviously JHM has theirs, but what about piecing it together from an audi parts dealer? I've even noticed ECS has a kit bow that seems very well priced, about 500 under JHM.

    Any input appreciated.

We include an upgraded metal guide to replace the problematic plastic guide that is always broken, as well as upgraded mechanical adjuster sprockets that are a lot cheaper than OEM that will prevent the same failures from happening.

This is the kit that I recommend: https://jhmotorsports.com/shop/catal...te-p-2312.html

Additionally, the only kit I have seen from them competes with this level kit from us, and ours is still cheaper and includes upgraded parts: https://jhmotorsports.com/shop/catal...ic-p-2040.html

I spent way too much time over-analyzing all my options with a big spreadsheet, and I found the cheapest way to get everything was to piece it together (time spent not factored into the cost). If you value your time then it may be worth the convenience to just get the kit.

I wish I had discovered this site before I placed my order, but I recently found out that vwpartsoutlet.com has the cheapest prices I've found from any dealer. Ships from San Bernardino

It's easier to just get everything on 1 place, like JHM, and you know they always have everything in stock ready to ship out.

However if you are after getting the best deal possible you can write out a shopping list and look for the best deal possible.

Basically, just buy the stronger Mech Adjusters from JHM, and get everything else from GenuineAudiParts.com.
And make sure to buy the center guide from the RS4 so you get the metal version (this is the same one JHM puts in their kit)

I did the same, here is one version, comparing GAP, ECS and JHM (I didn't look @ vwpartsoutlet.com:

    Tried to compare kit contents/pricing.

Ended up with JHM intermediate kit just to save time and get the upgraded adjusters. Be warned, JHM kit doesn't include all the little o-rings you need for the back of the tensioners though, unless they've updated it within the last year or so.
