Is that the one under the dash? The one that controls Windows?
Are those the same between b6/b7 or do they change like he one under the floor?
    Thanks

The one under the dash (Vehicle electronic control module) controls exterior lighting. The one under the floor (Central control module for comfort systems) controls the windows.

The central convenience control module is under the drivers side front carpet.

Ok thanks, that would be b7 specific. Friend just picked up an 06 2.0 and the windows and moonroof are not working. He thought it was the the u set dash module, just needed to confirm. We have spare b6 parts but not 7.
    Thanks!

Provided that wiring harness is the same between B6 and B7, you can substitute a B6 module in a B7. I don't know about the Comfort module under the carpet, but the CECM under the driver's dash cannot accept a B7 <> B6 module since the wiring harness is different.

I think somewhere you can check the part number of your CECM which is by the relay box under the drivers side dash near the dead pedal.

There should be 2 different modules, the high line and the low line.

btw....mine wasnt under the carpet, unless y'all are talking about something different and Im just an idiot..which is highly likely

you're talking about the central electronics module under the dash, afaik the NA spec cars all got the highline electronics. The one under the carpet is the central electronics module.
