Tires for LA weather and road conditions

Hi Guys - Specific questions for us that live in LA. I am about to drop my daily driver which is a B8 Audi A4 Avant on the B12 Suspension Cup-Kit and will upgrade from my stock 18's to 19 8.5 ET35 rotors. I have heard that while there is a change in ride that this kit is particular good. However, I wanted to get your opinion on tires given that LA roads (especially 405) are riddled with pot holes. It doesn't rain here very often so I am also assuming that this will play into my decision. I was looking at 255, 35 19s tires.

What tires would you recommend for me? I am aware you shouldn't go cheap on tires but I also don't want to spend more than I have to.

Cant go wrong with Hankook Ventus V12 ......Seems like a lot of people around here (myself included) run with them and are happy with them.

Let's start with tire type? I run high-performance summer tires, which usually have excellent grip in the dry (obviously) and usually great grip in the wet.

Ventus V12 was one of the tires I was looking into, however currently I run Falken Azenis FK453. Previously I ran Falken FK-452 so you could say I'm a bit loyal haha. They are pretty solid tires, particularly for the price.

Thanks for the recommendations. I'm open to suggestions regarding type however my assumption is that given it is dry almost all year round here I can get away with summer tires. I'm after performance but also ride comfort and low noise are important to me.

I think many of us would "strive" to buy that tire, but we settle with less expensive tires like Falken FK435 and Hankook Ventus V12.

The best I could find for the Ventus V12's is 170 vs 220 for the Michelin PSS so not that much in it.

I run Continental ExtremeContact DW summer only tires and they handle the Malibu Canyons with ease and they are budget friendly, and has a decent treadware rating.. Below is a link to Tirerack's tire ratings for the Max Performance Summer category. For my S4's tire size of 255/35/19, tirerack sells em for $190/each.

Cant beat the price for a tire that holds power (I have a 770 B5S4), corners, and miles. I got almost 28k out of my last set, so I bought them again. An unlikely contender to some far more expensive tires.

I had a set of Bridgestone 760's. They were ok.

Had two sets of V12's. Theses were just OK. Did nothing well and everything just kinda worked. Very unreliable quality control and had a couple replaced because they were impossible to balance.

Had some Nexen things when I bought this car. They were shot to bits and needed replacing but they were also pretty non descript.

Spoke to the guys at Eurotech when I got this car and also to the extremely impartial chaps at Anaheim Wheel and Tire and they all recommended, beyond a doubt, the Conti DWS.
I had them fitted - never found a tire shop take so much care of my wheels - and they felt a little vague. They told me this might be the case until they had been scrubbed a little. Once they had a few hundred miles on them they really came to life. I did Big Bear is SERIOUS snow and ice. Ranger and CHP said nothing to me after seeing DWS and quattro. They handle rain like it isn't there, they're quiet and comfortable and the grip is very deceptive. The feel a little soft at turn in but you actually have tons of grip. For a big tank like the 4.2 C5 they're amazing, especially for the money.

Currently running the Hankook Ventus V12 evo2 on my car, they're okay. But I got them on sale (for like $100/each installed lol) so like....oh well lol. For my next set I'm gonna go cheap and throw some Federal 595 EVOs on my car. My dad runs them on his 911 and they're actually really good, and only $70/each.

If you want, I have a set of Toyo Proxes R888 in your size for sale. They have a great amount of thread left, and are the best performing street legal tires, hands down.
