    Factory Wheel Weight - S8 21"

At the tire shop, I weighed my bare factory 21" wheel off my 2013 S8. 35lbs and change with no tire. Surprisingly heavy. I could see a rolling mass weight savings of perhaps 50 lbs with a swap of all 4. But I recall a magazine test that showed quarter times and traps were not substantially affected by lighter wheels.

    Just thought this was interesting.

Ride will improve substantially as will steering response with a lighter wheel, all else being equal

this is one of the reasons that I went with 20s, as well as the taller profile tire, because the 21s are too much for NY roads.

If I am not mistaken, my 20x10.5 HRE FF15s were 26lbs each. Very good weight savings, even with the heavier tire. Everything is better with less rotational mass.
