Fuse to pull for Radar power?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Anyone have any idea's on what fuse to use for the radar power? On my s4 I used the soundakator fuse which also defeated that. I heard that the car will now throw codes if you mess with that fuse? is this true? Need's my radar!!

There's probably accessory power in the door fuses on the driver's side? Could also tap the mirror I bet.

It's been a while since I hard wired a radar to my Audis.

I was thinking of using the cigarette lighter fuse. I tried pulling the panel under the steering wheel and it was giving me a hard time so I didn't want to pull too hard.

Read your manual. Plenty of spots to tap and probably some empty slots too.

I'm trying to get the fuse box cover open under the wheel, the one that says "airbag". Is that really where the fuses are and is there a trick? I too need to hard wire into there.

Tap the mirror power assuming you mirror mount. Far cleaner and easier.

Agreed. I hate messing with a-pillars on newer cars with airbags everywhere.

Can't, going with V1 windshield mount center and low until I find a mount that works for me.

Fuse to pull for Radar power?

Can someone tell me how to open the fuse panel underneath the steering column? Just force it?

Nevermind. Answer is yes. There is a single clamp top center, and 2 clamps on the bottom, either side.

I forget precisely which one I used - it is horizontal bottom right iirc. I looked in the manual for fuses that would be just for the convertible to find one. The thing that caught me up initially was finding a good earth. I thought I had one, so figured that audi hadn't wired unused fuse slots. It took getting the multimeter out to ID the real problem.

Just had a look - poor memory; it was a vertical slot:

I ended up using the 20 fuse in ur picture as it is the cigarette lighter.

Used the bolt at the firewall for the ground. Cleaned the bolt and sandwiched the ground wire between two nuts. Nuts needed from Home Depot are pictured.
