started the car and it revs slightly and goes back and almost stalls, checked to see if it was the ICM, it wasn't. when i hit the throttle it does this weird idle thing where it revs then goes to 100 rpm then back to 500, the car ran PERFECT yesterday and this weekend it was running fine, Replaced a oil sending unit BAM this happens, i didnt bump anything else i literally just reached down took the sending unit out with a wrench and put a new one back, Thats working, Now the car is doing this

    Reached down, eh?

Wild guess: you disturbed/broke the delicate, almost glass-like PCV system somewhere - causing a good size vacuum leak. This unmetered air causes unstable idle and inadequate fueling due to unmetered air entry.

So you weakened something and the vibration / pressure from the engine running finished the job. That would explain why it ran and then died. Go look for broken hoses and electrical connectors.

i noticed that my AC isnt working now either, the fan runs and it shows like it is, But it was like this, i would hit the snowflake icon and it would stop blowing for a second chill the air all most instantly but that doesnt seem to be happening now, I let the car idle for 5 minutes, idle is normal, but the AC doesnt want to cool out now and it wont let me rev for more than 2 seconds, i checked all of the hoses used some smoke to check theres no air going in anywhere i can see besides the MAF, could there be some kind of electric problem, I unhooked the battery before i changed a oil sending unit, and it wouldnt let me start the car at first but i adjusted the harness on the battery terminal and it started this issue when i started the car, "Probably doesnt make much since" this is on the Cable driven 99 Preface lift a4, so im not super sure where to go from here, I checked the fuses including the ones under the dash, and nothing is blown..

I don't actually think what im experiencing is a vacuum leak i can rev the car to 2k it waits 2 seconds then goes back to idle on its own i can rev to 4k and after the exact same amount of time it dies back to idle, the computer wont let me check the codes, It was working before maybe when i plugged the battery back up it shorted something out? doesn't seem likely but its the only strange thing that happened was the car didn't start when i plugged the battery up it just kinda died when i turned the key, i adjusted the terminal and it started right up, Idk what the issue is but i sprayed around even took the vacuum line off and put it on a smoke machine didnt find anything that way either

unplugged the MAF car died, "kinda was expecting that"plugged it back in, still having the throttle problem, Put car in gear, Idle goes way down and almost stalls the car, So is the throttle body or MAF the problem?

Running through the gears, and the idle just slips when it goes in reverse and drive, but returns to normal in neutral and park
