I know this topic has come up before but I have a c7 and I want this god damn navigation the c7.5 has in the cluster... I want it and I want it now !

I just talked to my service advisor today seeing if they could just plug into the mmi and update it? He said maybe it can be done via vagcom, but he'd look into while it's in the shop. Has anyone figured out how to get this onto the c7 or is it just not possible...?

I would be very surprised if this can be done with coding alone. I suspect you will need a whole new hardware from MMI system to the cluster gauge to make it happen and also some coding at dealership to register the new MMI with the car. The last part I don't even know if that is possible.

The whole MMI solution has been upgraded for the C7.5, including new hardware and software. Any retrofit is likely to run into $$$$, if its even possible.

Im not aware of anyone having undertaken this modification. Its definitely not a VCDS tweak!

Well it may be possible but likely only if the pre-facelift cluster has those graphics somewhere in the cluster/MMI software and it can be switched. It may not be possible via VCDS but perhaps a specifically written program could alter the coding.

The only place you could find a degree of customization that significant would be the German forums that someone linked in the 'change MMI spashscreen startup' thread. That is an example of specifically written software for a job. I would check out that forum. It is in German so use Chrome or manually Google translate each page.

I don't use the map in the DIS/cluster any more. I prefer the street view in the DIS. It shows what lanes you should be in, whereas the HUD just shows which way to turn. I'd love to see the same street view graphics on the HUD.

Pretty sure there was a new Nvidia Tegra GPU in the current-gen MMI that is able to drive both displays at high-res and high FPS. So yes, like others have said, the MMI hardware is significantly upgraded.

Ok well I appreciate everyone's input, looks like I got my answer 😟 💔 lol! I am currently driving a loaner c7.5 and I was like, man that would be so could if my car could do that... Thanks everyone!
