As the title states, I replaced the wires for my cam position sensor connector with new ones from Audi as I was having issues with a P0340 code (cam POS sensor incorrect allocation) I figured since I had just done all my timing a few months back and everything was working fine for a good 6 weeks that it was most likely a wiring issue after verifying the mechanical timing was correct. Replaced the wires all the way to the ecu harness. Started up and the code went to P0343 (cam POS sensor signal to high). I then replaced the sensor itself with a new oem one and still got the same code. So off I went and thought well my timing belt tensioner hasn't been replaced in 60,000km or so, maybe that's it! Nope. I ended up replacing the timing belt, tensioner pulley and the tensioner, set timing again. Same code..... So the last thing is my chain and chain tensioner. I had replaced the chain tensioner on my rebuild 6 months ago with an oem one but reused the old chain, but hey it's possibly the tensioner failed, stranger things have happened right? So, I replaced the chain and tensioner with oem ones, again I set the mechanical timing and verified TDC on cyl #1 with a depth mic on the off chance I had spun the key out of the timing belt drive gear off the crank, but it was fine as well. Started up the car, and I get THE SAME FREAKIN CODE!!!
Anyone have any experience with this at all? I should mention my ecu is out of a 2001 a4 for tuning purposes. Also have VVT deleted among all my other emissions systems.
Help a brotha out!!
