Follow up to your question is, I want to know if anyone has done the INSTALL themselves? The pipes that connect to engine headers that have O2 bunks.

I was on the edge of purchasing these from you guys the only thing holding me back was the install do you really have to drop the tranny or can I just reach the pipes buy removing the axle shields and reaching the top bolts through the engine bay ?

You do NOT have to remove the transmission. Shops will do it because that is what the book calls for, but Audi calls for it to make money on labor.

Rust is also a bitch with the three nuts that hold the cats on. It seriously sucks when one of the studs break off.

Just installed the JHM test pipes while doing a 3r clutch kit. These do make a noticeable difference. Performance and sound. I already have an AWE touring downpipe back. The test pipes didnt make much louder but gave it more of a pissed off and deeper sound. More than happy with them!

How do you like the 3r clutch?

So far it is just fantastic. Only have about 100 miles on it so still in break in. But even for break in its incredibly smooth. Night and day difference! I got it with the lw fly and it is probably the best feeling aftermarket clutch I've ever owned.

I've had a handful of different clutches in a variety of vw/audi. Spec/clutchmasters/southbend..all of which at some point I ended up getting balanced and had chatter.

This clutch is so driveable my wife has no problem driving it. The only noticeable difference is clutch pedal stiffness. Sitting at a light you'll notice weak leg a little quicker haha. Engagement is so close to stock feel just a tad bit crisper. I really cant praise this kit enough.

The only additional thing I recommend doing as well - Get a slave cyl..they are cheap and "while you are in there". AND get USP slave cyl line- http://www.uspmotorsports.com/Drivet...and-A5-S5.html

-the factory line I swear I could feel expansion in the oem line. If I sat at a light long enough it felt like a rubber band getting stretched out and clutch pedal would be "gooey" coming up.(also correct me if I'm wrong but I believe these have a clutch delay valve in them as well?) I don't need my clutch release slowed down for comfort or ease.. Between the JHM clutch kit and the braided line the clutch is now crisp, responsive, and doesn't get hung up at all anymore.

Holding power is yet to really be tested due to break in holding me back. But with a couple light pulls in it has held up 110% on the supercharged v8.

Nice. What did you have prior? I had the JHM stage 4 and really liked it, but I also have a supercharged V8 and the pressure plate crapped the bed on me. So I went with the JHM 5R. It has zero problem holding the power now, but it is not the most daily drive-able clutch, it's good once you get going, but you really have to pay attention from a standstill. It engages instantly. Awesome for launches, but my wife can't drive it at all. Thanks for the feedback, sounds like the 3R is the perfect compromise between the 2 and will be my next big expenditure.

Almost forgot. Yes it does have a delay valve in line. I took it out completely and replaced it with the USP stainless steel line. It's basically just an expansion in the line.

I just ordered JHM SC for My S5 v8. I already have JHM tune an Fast Intentions/JHM resonated cat back exhaust. I
Do not want any other sound but I was advised to get the CAT pipes. This will change
And increase my sound. But I was told much better performance. I'm just a street guy , no track.
Are the pipes a must since acquiring the supercharger?

It was the original oem clutch prior. All the car had was a cat back exhaust when I purchased it last may.

I wouldn't say they are a must. I ran the charger for about 500 miles before installing my pipes with the new clutch kit. Ran flawless. You will however have MUCH better flow with a JHM hf cat or test pipes freeing up some ponies.

I did my pipes with the clutch kit that has a lw fly as well. so i cant say the change was completely the pipes. but the car revs out quicker and can def breathe better. You can feel it in the butt dyno.
