Alright guys, the woman was driving the car a few weeks ago and the axle bolts fell out causing the axle to pop off. Well I finally got around to fixing it and putting the VSS ring in the transmission so I have a speedo (trans is out of an 03 3.0) and am not sure what would cause this but when ever I give the car full throttle it will hit about 10psi (tuned for 25psi but the 3 Bar MAP sensor hit the hood and broke and the car ran fine before the axle fell out but would only hit 19psi) and the car will stutter and not accelerate like I'm in boost. I can give it like 1/4-1/2 throttle and when not hitting boost and the car will accelerate normally. At idle the vac is at -14 and when driving and putting it in neutral it is around -19 to -20. The car is kind of hard to start in the mornings almost like it floods out and has to burn the remaining gas in the combustion chamber out since the MAP broke. As of right now I am about to go outside and run the code (bulb burnt out for CEL) and I will update you. Thank you.

Looks like that broken map sensor caused a massive short circuit it may have damaged the ecu replace the sensor if you haven't already and clear the codes and see which ones come back to start.

It's kind of weird, it never acted like this until the day before the axle fell out. I was driving back from a car meet, and was cruising down the highway and the car briefly cut out for not even a second then continued as normal. The woman drove it maybe a half a mile and the axle fell out the next day. Last night got it going and this morning checked the codes and now it's throwing codes for Boost leak, VSS, MAP, Charge Pressure Control, O2 sensors bank 1 and 2 (rears and EGTs are tuned out), Camshaft adjustment bank 1 and 2, Crank Position and VSS, Crankshaft position sensor and Camshaft Position Sensor/ESS.
I did just clear them after I checked them and am going to take it home and see what pops up on the way there.

Cleared the codes as stated above, started it back up. let it fully warm up and rev'd it up a few times to 3k and now I hear a slight rattling noise, Not sure how to upload a video on here, but these codes came back up, P1347 AND P0341. That is without even driving it.

Would being a little low on trans fluid cause that? It never made this noise even pulling it into the shop to change the axle and putting the speedo ring in... I ran out of time to replace the trans fluid that was lost, but it was roughly half a quart max

Pop the valve covers off and check the cam chain tensioner that could be going bad or the pad could be broken. Can't really tell from te video but it sounds like upper engine noise, but top off the transfluid just to get that out of the way.

I had a few techs at my dealership look at it and we could all agree the noise was coming from the rear of the right side head. The shitty thing is the timing was done maybe 2 years and 14k miles ago MAX.

That would be right where the cam tensioner sits pull the valve cover check it out. Here is the thing when doing timing you don't really look at cam chain tension unless there is an issue, you should take a look when the valve covers are off just to make sure things look good. Seems like the tensioner or pad could be the issue. It could just be the plastic pad the chain rides on took a shit there are 2 one on top of the tensioner and one on the bottom.

Thank you for all of the help. I will have to get some VAG buddies to help me check it out. Luckily enough with the problems my car has had in the past I have actually become friends with the guy who did some work on the car for the PO and he actually did the timing himself on it lol

It's kind of upsetting the lack of help on this thread. I found some new pads, however, so I think I'm going to have to talk to some B5 buddies about helping out with them lol.

The car was a few teeth out of time.. A bolt and washer somehow made it's way into my timing cover and chewed up my timing belt. The car has a new continental belt on it and OMG does it pull!!

No chatter. I pulled the passanger side VC and the top nylon pad had no wear. Chain was tight and when rotating there wasn't any point where it had slack. The issue was 100% timing belt related. I did it. I knew one previous owner well and originally did the timing belt in 2013. someone had been in there for some reason and messed with the belt. The drivers side head was 2-3 teeth off and the belt got absolutely destroyed by a loose bolt that somehow made its way into the lower timing cover by the crank sprocket.
