Rear axles replaced. Anyone had this happen?

I switched the wheel and tire set over from winter to summer, and the tire shop guy noticed some leakage on the rear axle seal. It was almost due for service, so I took it in a bit early.
They found the axle seals leaking actively and replaced them under CPO warranty. Also said the shocks are starting to sweat, but not active leak, so they didn't do anything with that.

Just curious if anyone else had this problem?

    2011 DSG, 46k miles.

part numbers were 8K0-501-203-L, 8K0-501-204-L, and some screws, bolts, clips, etc.

The rear seals were replaced on my 2011 B8 6spd by the previous owner at 18,000 miles.

The rear diff seal problem was covered in detail on this lengthy thread. The problem only affected 2011 models with the Sport Diff and was attributable to a failure of a sealant on the inner CV joint. There was a fix issued under TSB 2026049/1.

Thanks Lykuno for the link. I searched a bit, but apparently not enough.

That is the TSB (2026049) that they put on the invoice as well.
