Anyone gone from a S6 to S4 or other way around?

Just wondering if anyone has gone from a C7 or C7.5 to or from a B8 or B8.5. I love my S4 but really needing something a little larger at times and was debating just going with a S6. I would end up going stage 1 more than likely which pushes it to about 580HP according to apr.

Its just an idea right now, I was looking at the S7 originally but the price was just out of what I was comfortable with but the S6 would be about right.

Just seeing peoples thoughts on this.

S6 chipped is sweet. Plus nice and roomy on the inside. Doesn't feel cramped like the S4.

Have S4. Test drove S6 and fell in love immediately for what it's worth! Even stock that thing moves and feels much faster weaving through traffic. Apparently about to receive a significant upgrade though. My 0.02.

2017? I think I read they are going to add the new instrument panels and such like the new Q7 have and the A4 but don't know when. When I got my S4 I test drove a A6 with the supercharged V6 and it wasn't bad. I didn't really consider the S6 then.

I feel as if they're slightly different cars so it's tough to compare them. I'm sure the S4 is significantly more nimble through turns, but I can't attest to the S6 since I only ride in one for about 5 minutes once

We have had a few handfuls of S6's come through here and a plethora of B8 S4's. The S6 is on an entirely different level and in another class of car. You get a lot for your money with this one. The S4 is a much smaller, nimble drivers car, where the S6 is big, has a lot of room, is nimble for its size but there is significant room for improvement on this one.

If you need some space or just want more power in a straight line that will be more comfortable on the highway the S6 is the ticket. Either way you aren't exactly "stuck" with something.. they're both a blast to drive. The S6 is an animal with just a tune.

2 completely different cars like others stated. I have been in the c7 platform since over 3 years. I thought of getting an S4 but just couldn't do it. I'd admit, a loaded S4 with S/D is an absolute blast to drive. I ended up getting a loaded c7.5 A6. Compromised a little on handling but we love big cars. If we have to go small, we'd get a coupe. But thats just our personal taste. I'd go for the S6 but compared to the S4, it is pretty huge . Plus there will be a significant price difference.

If I had it all to do over again, I'd be in an S6 right now instead of the 4. Coming from an M5 at the time and needing AWD in a hurry, I didn't research the full Audi line like I should have. Wife constantly complains about the tiny S4. Luckily, she's not in it all that often...lol

Apparently you can pick up '14 S6 CPOs in the mid $50k range; seems like a great value for a highway monster.

I love my S4 I really do, but sometimes people want to go to lunch and I am not going to squeeze them in the back of the S4. Normally we drive my wifes Infiniti QX60 when going around but it would be nice to have more room. I have been looking at M5s but forgot about the S6 with stage one is a beast.

My only issue now is that lease rates on the S6 seem to be terrible. Like 50% residual value on a 3/36 from what I read where the M5 is closer to 62%. I would consider a low mile 2015 CPO to just buy but not found any near me.

How is S6 reliability compared to the S4? I would always be fearful of huge a$$ repair bills with an S6. Maybe it's unfounded, though?

Dad has a 14 S6 apr stg 1 about 90k miles. Does a lot of highway. Car has been flawless and is very nice. I'll probably snag it from him once he moves on. Very nice complete package and I think a good value.

I drive a lot of highway miles also, one reason I am considering buying instead of leasing but I am open to either.

Honestly best way to but it

S4 is a sport sedan with a bit of luxury thrown in.

S6 is a luxury sedan with a bit if sporty thrown in.

2 very different cars. I found the s6 extremely appealing but you definitely get further and further from the "raw" experience

Good example. Although, I wouldn't really say any Audi is "raw"....or "communicative" for that matter. Get your point though...

From a tuning stand point, which one delivers more? I've seen B8 S4 run low 11.s on stock blower. I think 119-121mph is about as far as you can go on the stock blower. Haven't seen any C7.5 S6 run faster than a 119mph 1/4 on stock turbos. Seems you need RS7 turbo upgrade to get more. And that sounds like a pricey upgrade.

From what I've seen in YouTube videos, the S6 tuned out is still running very low 11s on average. Really only a few 10ths of a second faster than your average tuned out S4. Even though it may have 100 more HP, the weight/size is a lot to overcome.

From what I know I think a Stage 1 S6/S7 is about same 1/4 mile wise as a S4 Stage 2 dual pulley on E85.

I feel like the S6 wouldn't FEEL nearly as fast when driving it as the S4 does at that power level, even if it is faster.

Not so sure about that considering it has a Twin Turbo V8

The availability of a manual transmission is what makes the S4 more unique and more of a drivers car. Good balance, good road feedback. Can have fun daily as a daily driver. If it was an Avant it would have been perfect.
S6 is nice, big and luxurious, but it's still a sedan. If I feel tight in a S4 I need a diet, not a S6. And the S6 is more of a status car too. I'm not sure I would feel comfortable driving it daily as an only car and I don't want the hassle of owning more than one car. From financial stand point i also see a much more painful depreciation in the S6.

And how "monstrously" fast can be the S6 with a tune ? Will it be as fast as Nissan GTR....2.7 sec 0-60 for the last GTR's black edition.

That said my absolute favorite car is the RS6 Avant, but It's not available in the USA

Felt much faster to me at street speeds. Acceleration that is.

I have not. But I could see myself moving to a big Audi (which is more of a luxury experience than a motoring experience) as a next step as long as I had a second sports car.
