    Fuel pump wires

I've read on here that the Bosch 044 fuel pump install requires you to flip the black and red (as in black to red and red to black) because Audi colors their hot wires differently. Does anyone know if this is the case with the pump that comes with the JHM tune and fueling? I'm not sure what model it is but it says DW300 on the side.

    Thanks!

The AUDI wiring off the harness in the tank Black is +12V (fuel pump relay), faded Brown (looks red) is Ground. If you notice, Audi likes to use brown wiring for all its ground wiring, so this makes sense if you are familiar with Audi wiring.

    So make sure:
Audi Black wire goes to the +12v side of the fuel pump wiring (any pump)
Audi Brown (when faded it looks redish) goes to ground side of fuel pump wiring (any pump)

That is correct. Red to negative and black to positive. My deutchwerks dw301 has marking stating which is positive and which is negative as well.

The 044 is stamped. Red is 12v, blue is ground on the pump itself. If I were you, I'd simply hook up a multimeter or even test light to check positive wire going to pump. Takes 10 seconds tops and peace of mind when you go to start the sucker and it doesn't work. You'll know you got the wires correct.

fixed, its confusing as hell when you hear the pump running but get no fuel pressure, so figured I'd clarify.

Thanks for the help! I figured I just didn't know if this applied to all fuel pumps or just the 044.

All, since its on the car end not the pump end.

Has anyone of you experienced “fried” wiring to the fuel pump?
New pump and relay’s worked fine for 2000 km and then died completely.
    Audi A4 1.8 T avant 2002 with only 70000 km.

Where do the fuel pump grounds to the chassi?
