I suddenly have access to a VAG Com setup-now what mischief can I get up to ?

A neighbor who I just met tells me he has a V/C cable and program on his lappy that he bought (for a song ) to do work on a TT he once had.I am welcome to borrow it which is very considerate of him. What are some possible things I could look at as I'm modding my car ? No major power enhancements planned but I am stg 1 and putting a high flow cat on. Getting rid of the seat belt warning is one thing I have in mind which is pretty minor I guess but what else ? I am backward in this knowledge area but have the torque app so haven't totally been living in a cave, lol...

I would do all of the adaptation to ensure you system is set up (below) and then go through each mod, read it and decide if you want it.

    Adaptation

    Basic Setting

    Throttle Body
    Prerequisites:
    Ignition ON
    Engine OFF
System voltage at least 11.0 V.

    [Select]
    [01 - Engine]
    [Basic Settings - 04]
    Group 060
    [Go!]
    Activate the Basic Setting.
    [ON/OFF/Next]
Wait until Field 4 shows "ADP. O.K.".
    [Done, Go Back]
[Close Controller, Go Back - 06]

    Switch Ignition OFF.

    Kick Down
    Prerequisites:
    Ignition ON
    Engine OFF
System voltage at least 11.0 V.

    [Select]
    [01 - Engine]
    [Basic Settings - 04]
    Group 063
    [Go!]
    Activate the Basic Setting.
    [ON/OFF/Next]
Press the pedal to the floor and hold it there for at least 2 seconds.
Observe Field 4, once the adaptation is successfully done it should show "ADP. O.K.".
    [Done, Go Back]
[Close Controller, Go Back - 06]

    Switch Ignition OFF.

    Fuel Pump
    Prerequisites:
    Ignition ON
    Engine ON
System voltage at least 11.0 V.

    [Select]
    [01 - Engine]
    [Basic Settings - 04]
    Group 103
    [Go!]
    Activate the Basic Setting.
    [ON/OFF/Next]
Wait until Field 4 shows "ADP. O.K.".
    [Done, Go Back]
[Close Controller, Go Back - 06]
    Switch Ignition OFF.
    Note:
Timing chain driven engines such as the CCTA, CBFA and CCTA were phased in during model year 2008. Those engines do not use a G410 (Low) Fuel Pressure Sensor so Basic Settings 103 is not applicable.
    Intake Manifold Runner
    Prerequisites:
    Ignition ON
    Engine OFF
System voltage at least 11.0 V.

    [Select]
    [01 - Engine]
    [Basic Settings - 04]
    Group 142
    [Go!]
    Activate the Basic Setting.
    [ON/OFF/Next]
Wait until Field 4 shows "ADP. O.K.".
    [Done, Go Back]
[Close Controller, Go Back - 06]

Switch Ignition OFF for at least 60 seconds.

    Notes:
Timing chain driven engines such as the CCTA, CBFA and CCTA were phased in during model year 2008. Those engines use an entirely different IMRC system which uses engine vacuum in conjunction with a solenoid so Basic Settings 142 must be completed at idle.
Never run Basic Settings with the IMRC motor linkage disconnected from the intake manifold. It may damage the new part.
    Readiness
    Prerequisites:
    Ignition ON
    Engine at idle
    No fault codes

    [Select]
    [01 - Engine]
    [Basic Settings - 04]
    Group 200
    [Go!]
    Activate the Basic Setting.
    [ON/OFF/Next]
Firmly press Brake Pedal and Throttle Pedal (Full Throttle) at once to activate the basic setting.
Field 1 shows the steps counter, which counts down to 0 - then setting readiness is done.
Stay on the pedals as long as the procedure lasts.
    [Done, Go Back]
[Close Controller, Go Back - 06]

    Special Functions

    Checking Fuel Pressure
    Prerequisites:
    Ignition ON
    Engine ON (Idle)
System voltage at least 11.0 V.
Coolant Temperature at least 80 °C

    [Select]
    [01 - Engine]
    [Meas. Blocks - 08]
    Group 103
    [Go!]
Field 1: Fuel Pressure (Low), Specification: 2800...7200 mbar
Field 2: Fuel Pump Adaptation, Specification: -1000...+1000 %
    Note:
Timing chain driven engines such as the CCTA, CBFA and CCTA were phased in during model year 2008. Those engines do not use a G410 (Low) Fuel Pressure Sensor so Measuring Blocks group 103 is not applicable.

    Group 106
    [Go!]
Field 2: Fuel Rail,Pressure (actual): 55% or below is normal at idle
55% to 60% is a gray area, it may be okay, but may indicate a problem
Above 60% implies there is a failure or restriction
Causes of low pressure can include kinks or restrictions in fuel lines
Fuel filter issues including restricted/clogged or incorrect part number
Failing lift pump in fuel tank. We have seen numerous cases of sub-standard quality "factory" replacements in "factory boxes" that were obtained from aftermarket sources and are not sourced from official dealers. This led to troubleshooting problems that were solved by installing correct factory parts. We encourage customers to only install lift pump and fuel filter sourced directly from a VW/Audi dealer.

    Group 140
    [Go!]
Field 3: Fuel Rail Pressure (High), Specification: 25.0...110.0 bar
Increase the Engine Speed while checking this value, the Pressure has to rise with the Engine Speed.
    Group 230
    [Go!]
Field 1: Specified Fuel Rail Pressure (High)
Field 2: Actual Fuel Rail Pressure (High), Specification: 25.0...110.0 bar
Field 3: Deviation between specified and actual fuel pressure, Specification: max. 5.0 bar

Suggest attaching a battery charger or similar while doing the tests. Preventative to the voltage dropping depending on how long it takes and the condition of your battery.

Yea you can drop the voltage on the battery if you VCDS too long. I try to remember to turn off the radio and the heater blower...the blower in particular seems to draw quit a bit.

Do a set of baseline logs. Go to APRs website and find the recommended logging parameters. Graph what you log. It should give you a pretty good idea of how your car is performing. Do not be surprised when you see timing pull on individual cylinders, many tunes function with a little bit of timing correction.

Your neighbor is nice to do that, I am still trying to get a hold of a borrowed Vag cable so i can do some testing and mods myself.

Yeah the cheap ones in all seriousness are a waste of money. You can do some basic functions however I don't even trust the scans as I got erroneous results compared to the legit cable.
