Picked up my car today. Nothing I can write will be any shock to anyone here - incredible car. Interested in thoughts on the brake dust. Obviously well known around here but I am wondering if people have some tips on limiting the amount or if it's more in the beginning with new pads or is there something I can tinker with?

I am running on the stock 19s and plan to keep them so not changing to grey or black rims which would obviously mask the dust. I am actually considering lugging around a tire mop to clean it off each morning, haha.

    Thanks

The dust is always going to be there. Some have mention using ceramic pads help.

When I got my car detailed, I had a ceramic coating put on it. I had the detailer apply the coat to the entire wheel and barrel as well as the caliper. The dust comes off pretty easily compared to my other Audi without the coating. Spray on wheel cleaner, wait, hose off. If I wait too long between cleaning then I would have to scrub a little bit.

Change the pads, the dust is unbearable with factory pads. Nice ride, now some pics please.

The OE pads are actually very good. Ceramic coding can help a lot.

Use a dry microfiber towel to clean your wheels every few days. If you don't let the dust accumulate for any length of time, you can get it off in like 30 seconds per wheel, not including the barrels. I do the same with my exhaust tips.

Ceramic pads are the answer to the brake dust issue.

No idea how to upload pics. I don't have a URL for them and below it says I dont have permission anyway. I tried uploading them to my gallery and they are all too large. I posted them on AudiWorld much easier. Here's a link to that thread:

Armor All makes an amazing brake dust repellent spray. I'm not a big fan of their products except for this one! It used to be called wheel protectant. Now it's called outlast. Stuff really works!
