Trouble looking for an Avant

I've been looking for a '07 or '08 Manual Avant in the Vancouver (BC) area for about 4 months with not luck at all. Does anyone know a) how many A4s were sold with Manual Transmissions ? and b) how many Manual Avant are there ? It's quite frustrating and depressing to continue to check craigslist, autotrader, kijiji etc everyday with no luck at all. I could settle for a sedan but I really would like the extra storage for hauling things. If anyone could give me a ball park in terms of percentages or ratios would be helpful.

I actually got in touch with a local independent shop who let me know of someone selling their '08 titanium Avant 6-speed who didn't want to post it online for anyone to be, he wanted an enthusiast to take care of it.

I think I got lucky with the timing but you might have luck with that as well

Your in Canada so the numbers are different but for comparison sake. In the US 291*- Model Year 2007 Audi A4 2.0T Avant 4-Door 6-Speed quattro models sold in the U.S. so they aren't THAT rare but not a plenty.

The closest Manual Avant I can find right now is 3500kms (2100+ miles) away... across the country. There are a few in Ontario and Quebec. The main problem with that is not only the distance but the condition of almost all cars from those provinces. Many have far more chassis/suspension rust and corrosion than you'd like. Every mechanic I've talked to about buying a car from back east says that it's not worth it. I'm not going to buy a car with almost guaranteed chassis/suspension rust and corrosion, nevermind getting it home. I'd have to fly from Vancouver to Toronto, then take 3 of 4 days to drive it home. Or buy the car sight unseen and have it shipped here... somehow. So.. that restricts me to finding a car in BC or Alberta, that's it. Now do I wait for 2 years or settle for a sedan.
