Borla Exhaust owners... are your tips centered?

Mine are towards the inside of the rear valence openings. Looked at ways to adjust, but there really doesn't seem to be any without I guess bending the hangers in some way. Can anyone else post pics of their openings to see a comparison? Thanks.

Mine seem to be closer to the inside edge than the outside, but I don't remember it being vastly different than stock. Here are the pics, judge for yourself:

You're comparing two different rear valences though. B8 vs B8.5

...eh. So how does it sound? Sound clips?

Yes a little medial. Doesn't look bad though, my worry would be melting the valance

Yes, mine are a little toward the middle. Common problem. Problem is the Borla exhaust does not have that factory piece that pushes the two tailpipes apart where they separate at the rear differential.

Some have had a nut or similar welded on at the spot where the two rear exhaust pipes "Y apart" right at the rear differential, keeping them forced apart a fraction of an inch, which helps the tips to be centered in the cutouts.

Yeah that is what I noticed, nothing really to force them apart a little without jamming something in there. Thanks for the reply, seems like a normal thing then.

No valence melting issues or anything, and still can't beat the sound in my opinion for the price.

    Hello everyone,
I installed my borla exhaust on my dsg s4. My car vibrates from 1600-2500 rpms on Decel and Acceleration. I doubt it's normal... Anyone experience this and find a fix?

If you have the sport diff make sure it's not touching. It is a close fit. Also the exhaust expands when it gets hot, so it may touch after heating up.

Ok... It doesn't sound like metal on metal but sure shakes the shit out of the car.

This happened to me with my AWE Touring. EASY fix. You probably have a clamp that needs to be turned. I had a clamp that had a piece that was hitting the heat shield and vibrating the center console on deceleration about the same RPM range you're experiencing. Have a shop inspect in that area and see if any of the bolts can be turned so they don't hit the heat shield. It was an easy fix for me.

I had this same exact problem with my Borla exhaust. After 2 times to the muffler shop they ended welding a washer on to the exhaust hangers so the rubber grommet stayed in place. That's the issue, the grommet slides around and moves the muffler position. Worked great!

Crawled under and all the bolts are pointing down and there is plenty of clearance around the car except around the cross member there is about 1/2" between the pipe and cross member and the pipe and heat shield. Where the passenger pipe curves to go around the differential.

I spoke to the shop that installed it and they said it's because it has no resonators. That's its common. Guess my stock exhaust goes back on next week.
