Unhappy Enkei wheel offset issue/concern HELP.

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So I am wanting this Enkei wheel, and was told the offset was 45mm. The tire rack specialist told me I could not run that offset because it is too high and it will hit the break caliper.
From what I've read, you can go from a 35mm-45mm offset on the B7 S4 so I'm wanting any opinions on wether I should chose another wheel or what I should do...
    Thank you

Either use spacers or go with a lower offset wheel. +35 is the ideal offset for the B7 S4 in my opinion. I had +35 Enkei RPF1's on my B7 and they cleared my stoptech BBK....barely, but they cleared.

What size are the wheels cause from what I can say is the normal offset is 43 on any of the stock B7 S4 wheels. The speedlines, CHs, etc are all +43 offset. So the Enkei shouldn't be a problem at 45. The lower you go the closer it would be to hitting the brakes. The higher would more clearance.

That wheel will not clear the brakes (diameter wise) in the front. That is why. Use TireRack's selection tool. BBS is a brand that is happy on an Audi. Very few go with Enkei. They are more geared to the lightweight Japanese cars. Also the BBS line has styling that better compliments the German cars. Let TireRack's tool inform you yes/no on the brakes and you check the offset using this:

    Really appreciate the feedback guys.
    The wheels are the Enkei
    YS5 18x8 45mm.
I'm going to start looking for BBS wheels now!

Actually the exact opposite. Lower et moves wheel further away from upright/brakes.

OP, those are pretty nice looking wheels and would look nice on the b7 s4. Just get wheel centric spacers with a hub lip ~10mm. You should have plenty of space under s4 fenders.

Man I love the way those look.

So you think a 10mm spacer will help me clear the caliper up front?

I think I would do 10mm up front and 15 in the rear, would that look good and work?

Offset is going to vary depending on what width the wheel is. You cannot simply say 35mm to 40mm works best without knowing the width of the wheel. Brake clearance does not always work with specific offsets either depending on the wheel face profile. For the most part, Enkei wheel profiles are very standard and conservative. Typically on RFP-1s and NT03s, 18x9.5 et38 has plenty of backspacing and backpad clearance for brakes.

he mentioned the specs of the wheel in an earlier post. specs are 18x8, therefore i can say using a certain size spacer will work
