C7.5 BBK options, will s6 brakes work???? track days...

So I have used Stoptech in the past and been happy with their BBK's. Since they don't make one for the C7's I was wondering if a set of stock S6 brakes will work. I have seen some talk of it while searching different forums, but haven't seen anyone do it. I know Brembo is out there, and the alcon kit, which seems to be rebranded as Revo now? I am generally confused and cant get straight answers. Does anyone have any input as to whether an S6 swap is feasible without modification? I am looking to do track days and there's nothing like being able to brake hard and late! Thanks!

OR.....for anyone currently tracking the A6....would a set of track pads be sufficient to stop this beast? 356mm is not terrible sizewise, and with a set of dedicated track pads I think it may be OK, but I wouldn't mind some input from members who run the OEM rotors and upgraded pads. Personally I love the brake compounds made by a company called carbotech, simply amazing compounds! Going fast is fun, but being able to stop fast lap after lap puts a smile on my face all day!

I'd start with pads and see how you hold up on a track day. Definitely with you on the Carbotech's - I had them for my RS4.

I am simply amazed by the carbotechs, great company to work with. I may just start with the pads, lines and fluid and give it a go, but I'll be keeping my eye out for a bbk in the meantime.

Don't forget to consider incorporating some additional cooling in the form of ducting. I speak from experience when I say that the extreme temps that Carbotech pads can generate and withstand can boil even the best brake fluid.

As you can tell from my sig. I have upgraded both the front rear brakes on my A6. When I first started tracking the car I was completely stock and noticed after a few laps the brakes would start fading. At that time I figured I needed to go with an after market BBK, which I did. Looking back after extensive research I realize I may not have needed the BBK but instead I needed good track pads and a better brake fluid. That combo is probably sufficient for the stock power of the A6. Since I have the stage 2 tune I,m pretty happy having the Alcon BBK on the front and S6 rotor on the rear. Putting the S6 rotor on the rear maintains the factory brake balance, i.e. OEM was 14 in. front 13 in. rear now 15 in. front and 14 in. rear, all other factors being equal my front to rear brake torque should now be closer to OEM. Here is the link for the Alcon BBK http://www.alconkits.com/custom-filt...ry_id%5B0%5D=1 There are 4 options available. Also as far as brake fluid is concerned I recently switched to a brake fluid made by a company called Torque and the fluid name is RT700. Really happy with the performance of this fluid.

Also, FWIW, I personally know a guy who cooked his Stoptech setup on his otherwise-stock B8 S4 - it wasn't the BBK that was the problem - it was lack of cooling.

Cooling to the front brakes certainly would be nice. Any ideas on to accomplish this?

This is how my friend did it on his B8 S4:

Though I haven't researched it, seems like something similar could be implemented on the C7 with some ingenuity...
