    Question JB1 Recommendations..

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Looking into the JB1 for my S3. Currently running full stock.. Probably won't do any bolt-ons for awhile.

Anyone running straight stock and the JB1? Worth it?

Would any JB1 owners recommend the Data cable? Or will the stock MAP it ships with work just fine?

I live in Denver- 91 Octane is our top.

    Appreciate it!

    Intercooler
    Downpipe
    Inlet+outlet/throttle pipes
    Boost silicone pipes

Definitely worth the cable if u plan on upgrading from stock.

I have the Neuspeed module, works great too, I'm stock as well. It's another option. I paid $225 for it used.

Definitely considered the Neuspeed- But I like the option to tune it up a bit if I do mods...

Has the Nuespeed thrown any fault codes?

My car is a lease- so I'm going the least intrusive route.

Got mine last week. Had been following this thread for reviews and info prior to taking the plunge:

    http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...pecific/page93
    (same platform, drivetrain as S3)

Install was easy. It gives a noticeable increase in power but only above 3K RPM's. Below that, it feels completely stock. It is not as smooth as a good tune/flash but for the price and flexiblity, it can't be beat. I may buy the data cable but as of now, leaving it on map 1 and enjoying it.

No, and I've removed it a couple times before going to the dealer. No problems

I haven't checked out any events..would definitely be interest here this summer.

What groups are putting on these events?

I work at Prestige Imports- in the collision center parts department.. If you ever need anything don't hesitate to send me a message.

If you're in California like me, Mike at N54 Tuning will ship you a JB1 from the Canada warehouse location. I ordered mine a few weeks ago when they were backordered and Mike gave me updates along the way. Currently out of town but the tracking number says it was delivered yesterday - can't wait to try it out.

Old thread I know but what kind of fuel economy have you all seen fro the JB1? Also how crucial is it to run 91 on the 91 setting, will it hurt if you ran 89 Octane?
