06 Audi A6 3.2 Ext High Pressure Fuel Pump

Just had my external high pressure pump replaced with the fuel pump tappet on my 06 Audi A6 3.2 this morning and still had no power all the way back to the office. Still has lacks power and when you accelerate, the tach climbs up but you slowly accelerate. Called the shop and they said probably now need to replace the fuel filter and low pressure sensor. My codes reading now are P0087 & P2296. Does it sound like the fuel filter and sensor are taking me in the right direction to get my car back up and running smoothly?

    Thanks!!

I've had a similar issue with P2296. I swapped out the HPFP and cleaned the electrical connectors on both ends of the whip, it took a few days but the CEL went away, however, I also need to do the carbon clean the intake and clean up my injectors as well. Did you happen to see what the intake looked like, or did your shop let you know if you needed to do the carbon clean?
