Info display question/phone

I just picked up a non nav s4 and notice when I'm done making a phone call and hang up, the info display stays in phone mode and doesn't switch back automatically to my last mode screen. I have to push mode button twice to get back to. In my nav 2013 a4, the display screen would switch back on its own.

Well if you were used to something as convenient as having it do it automatically, then yes it kinda sucks to not have it now. I've seen far worse complaints

OP: Maybe roll into your dealer and ask for them to take a look. I've not heard of your exact dilemma although I'm sure with being so new, you don't have access to vagcom or another code reader. They should be able to check it out for you buddy. One idea would be to do a MMI reboot of your system. I'd provide you the three button code although I can't think of it at this time and I'm sure 'tappanukegga' sorority boy would whine about doing a search or some other menstrual complaint.
That would be your only answer south of asking a dealer. Search for MMI reboot on this forum and it should pop up. You hold three buttons down, something like 'home' nav' and 'radio' for a three seconds and it just reboots your system.

The better question is, why are you so mad? Tappa wasn't out of line one bit. The OP's complaint was not only stupid and pointless, but he didn't even ask a question. It was just a thread started to complain. At the very least it should have gone in the "Questions you thought were too stupid to ask" thread.

And just to contribute for anyone else who might be losing sleep over having to push a button, I have a 2012 Nav and B&O S4 and my car also stays in phone mode.

Not sure if this is even related but.

I have a '13 with nav and usually answer calls with the phone. Once the call ends it jumps back to exactly where it was at before. (Usually Nav up on MMI, Radio/Music on and mileage up on the cluster screen)

@OP, either take it in to the dealer and ask about it or get used to it.

Hell, I still get butt-hurt from time to time about the scroll wheel going the WRONG WAY on the MMI screen but, I try to get used to it. (Guessed they fixed it with the new generation?)

Thanks for all of the input guys. I'm new to Audi but well versed in VWs and unfortunately the Vortex. Been reading Audizine for a few weeks now, I am very impressed and happy to be part of this forum and Audi enthusiast culture.

I'm going to save time and thread space by not quoting 5 people but it seems we are still split on leather vs. vinyl. Seems the like the responses are either "of course is leather, man" or "I thought it was leather too until I asked"

Can anyone confirm the material type? I'm going to try to stop by an auto upholstery shop after work to get an unbiased opinion.

Not going to lie my experience here on Audizine is absolute no better than the vortex so far. At least over there just one person will yell at you to search then your thread will go cold. ojmcneill's and fatkid's cute tag-team witch-hunt is something I've never experienced before though.

All car forums are pretty much the same apparently, it's what you get when you put a bunch of internet-alpha's in a room together...

Oh you're welcome. Ive been around here, and quite helpful as many people will tell you, for about 12 years now. Its getting bad. Too many stupid posts and way too many people enabling it. Not to mention the entitled babies who think they can talk to you however they want behind a keyboard. That being said, Audizine is still by far the best forum out there and Ill continue to support it for as long as I'm in the game.

No offense taken. I was a bit frustrated this morning as I posted this sitting at the dealer who tells my my warning light cluster is burned out on a new car. Joy. Anyways, regarding the phone screen thing, I wasn't sure if I was missing some setting somewhere , but not seeing anything. It just seems odd that nav mmi or non nav, they wouldn't integrate the swapping back to last screen in the info display the same way.
