    C5 A6 Wheel Offset

I am always uneasy about wheel offset when looking at wheels to buy. Looking at a set of 18x8 wheels with a 45mm offset from a newer VW, and curious if anyone can provide some fitment info. Will that offset work, will the wheels poke out etc... etc... When I look up the same set of wheels on Tire Rack for my 99 A6 Avant it recommends a 32mm offset? Thanks in advance!

Even if ET45 would clear the brakes and suspension they would probably look a little goofy since they would stick too far inboard. Lower ET moves the wheel farther outboard.

I just looked up the OEM offset, and it was 45mm. Used an online calculator to figure the difference from my 16x7's to the 18x8's, and it said the wheel would be 13mm inward. So I'm thinking I will move forward with the wheels, and grab some 15mm spacers to make it work. Anybody that can confirm?

Also keep in mind the hub bore will be different, 57.1 mm vs 66.6.

Wheels I'm looking at came off a 13' Volkswagon. Think it's the same 57.1 bore.

Well this about sums it up, I guess I will need to determine what size spacers I will need:
