Should I keep my original exhaust???

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Having an AWE exhaust installed today and trying to decide if I should keep the OEM exhaust. I don't have a lot of storage space, so thats a huge concern. Any reasons why I should keep it? I can't imagine wanting to go back to OEM, but I guess there is that possibility. Any and all advice is appreciated.

Ya if you ever want to trade your car back in to the dealership, you're going to need it.

I traded back my A7 with the AWE Quad Touring installed. Wasn't an issue, and the car was sold on within a few days.

The stock exhaust is also installed at the factory as single piece, from tip to the downpipe coupling. Its big, dirty and heavy. And it wont fit in your car in one piece.

You can always ask your exhaust guy to cut the stock exhaust into more manageable pieces if you want to keep it, just make sure you have plenty of protection to put down otherwise your interior is going to get marked!

Its got no resale value (most people will purchase an aftermarket if they want to upgrade) The question is if you sell or trade your car, would you want to keep and use (or resell) the AWE?

Welp, I don't have my S6 OEM exhaust - not sure how things will go down when I go to sell/trade - I guess I'll cross that bridge when I come to it :)

Paying for storage space would likely have ended up being more expensive (over multiple years) - but I'm not sure on the cost of an OEM exhaust, or if I would get docked that value on a trade...

I keep the stock exhaust just in case I may want to trade the car in. Yes, they are big but any good shops can cut them up and wield them back together later.

I had to cut mine to get it home, but I did keep it. When I sold my B8 S4, I removed my Milltek exhaust and reinstalled the factory system. A few weeks after selling the S4, I sold the Milltek for damn near what I paid for it. If you have the space to keep it, keep it. You'll get back at least $1k for your AWE when you eventually decide to get rid of the car.
