Navigation Instructions and Street Names for 2016 RS7

    Hi folks.

Quick question regarding spoken navigational instructions and street names for my 2016 RS7:

Where I live, just outside Toronto, Ontario, Canada, any time I am using navigation to travel to a destination, every time a street name has a highway or regional road designation (which is often), no matter how unused (and mostly unknown), the spoken commands always involve only those regional road names. The displayed instructions on the display always show the common street names that everyone knows and uses (so obviously the navigation system does know the regular street names), but the spoken instructions are using the uncommon regional names. It may seem petty, but it's extremely annoying since most of the time I don't recognize the regional names and none of the street signs use these regional names, and there appear to be a ton of them around this area.

There is an update for the navigation system that I can download. I can install the Canada only update, or I can install the North American update. I was thinking that perhaps the car comes with North American maps installed, and perhaps the North American version refers to Canadian street names by the regional names when they exist for ease of long distance travelling? Perhaps if I install the Canadian navigation update I will get back the spoken commands with simple street names?

Has anyone else experienced this and fixed it?

    Thanks!
    Shawn

Curious about this one. Never heard of this issue. The nav in my '13 RS5, a '16 A6 loaner, a '17 A4 and several A3s and older A6 loaners always use the official street/highway designations that somebody who doesn't live here would know and how it would be found on any map. For example Interstate 880 is locally known as the Nimitz Freeway. However, I actually don't know anybody who calls it that, neither does any navigation system I've ever used as I would expect. They all refer to it as Interstate 880, including the MMI. Is this different from your experience?
