Leather dye for SS seat bolster wear.

Hey all, I noticed the other day that my drivers side leading bolster is getting a bit of wear by the seam/ stitching already (after less than a year, and only 12,000 kms). I always get into the car very carefully as opposed to just falling into the car, so the wear is kind of disappointing. Anyone recommend a way to DIY this with a leather dye, and if so, what brand works best for the Nappa leather on the supersport seats? Any help is really appreciated.

I've been told with some cleaner and conditioner, the Nappa leather will last a long time with no issues. Pics would help to see what you are dealing with.

    I've heard that one...
I've also been told that silk nappa doesn't crease.

no amount of leather condition can remove the creases.

I'll try to get a pic. There are no real creases in mine, but a bit of the finish is rubbed off between the two stitch lines where the bolster sticks out the most. The rest of the seats look pretty much brand new.

    Check this out...may be a solution. http://forums.quattroworld.com/allro...s/249400.phtml

To minimize/prevent future or further wear on the bolster, try to pick yourself up off the seat when getting out. Usually jackets with zippers or belt loops will rub against the bolster each time you get out causing this wear. Nothing new...even back to the UrS4/S6 days the drivers bolster was notorious for extra wear. It takes some getting use to but once you start doing it it'll be second nature.

I didn't say it would prevent creases. If you don't want creases, go get the standard leather seats or cloth. Cleaning and conditioning will prevent discoloration, cracking, and tears.

A bit of wrinkles or not.. the SS seats just look really good. Worst case scenario you can have them redone with better leather at a upholstery shop. Wouldn't cost as much since they wouldn't be fabricating anything.

I put a ton of leather conditioner on my seats for preventive maintenance.

I don't really want to have to replace the leather after 12,000 kms, but I would like to try and fix the wear as much as possible for now. I typically clean and condition my seats at least once a month, so I figured that would be enough...

ive had seat wear. The middle portion on the right side started wearing off. The dye came off. I had the bottom seat replaced. IM wondering if it was my leather cleaner that diminished the life of it.

Which leather conditioner and cleaner are you guys using?
