    Hi guys,

    I just picked up a set of used Touareg 17z Calipers, and I'm intending to install them on my 2011 Audi TT.

    Does anyone offer a direct fit disc solution? 5x112 330mm

    What other hardware, brackets, etc. are required for my conversion?

    What pads are recommended for a daily driver? EBC Red?

    Any recommendations before this undertaking?

    Current Parts List (what am I missing)

    • 17z Front Calipers (Left/Right) - On their way
    • Brake Pads - Ordered Centric PosiQuiet (front and rear)
    • 330mm 5x112 Discs - Need recommendations | Going with rotors made for C230, requires hub enlargement and bolt enlargement
    • Stainless Lines - Ordered Stoptech stainless
    • Brake Fluid - Going to do a full flush, would love recommendations, and quantity

    I've got an 18z set, but use the 17z pads because they would overhang on my B7. I use Centric Posi-Quiet ceramic pads and I think they're great. Very quiet and don't cost a fortune either.

    Check with JHM regarding a direct fit (though it may be pricey). I cannot comment directly on a TT, but my experience was a direct swap for the calipers. I had to do some adapting for the sensor wires.

    For the lines, I got mine from Zeckhausen Racing for ~$60.

    Brake fluid, go with the recommended DOT 4 (like Pentosin) unless you are really tracking the car (then something like Motul will help). A full flush should run you about a liter, but with these bigger calipers, 2 liters is safer. Using the 2-person method has helped me avoid using too much and gotten most of the air out.

    If you didn't get bolts, JHM should have some too (if you're getting the discs). Otherwise, PM Hayden (LINDW4LL), as he's dealt many of these kits. I believe you'll need a 23 mm wrench and some hex key to do them right. Be sure to get the bushings.

    I recommend that, if it hasn't been done, you overhaul it (replace all the seals, etc). Clean the whole thing and either paint or powder coat them. I used G2 Caliper Paint (epoxy based) and it worked pretty well. Not as classy as powder coating though. Other than that, you may need to swap the crossover pipes too because the way they mount on a Porsche is different than Audi (or was for me--Audi mounted on the rear of the disc; Porsche on the front).

    I've emailed JHM, but I don't think I'll end up going with their discs since they're a fortune. Apparently there is a mercedes that has discs that will work, or potentially the SRT6 Chrysler Crossfire discs. Still researching.

    My car has a 57.10mm center bore... Given that, do I have to adapt the discs with a hub centric ring like you use for wheels?

    Gotcha. I'm running ML55 AMG front discs (which are 345 mm, but hey, I've got 18z). You'll need to bore out the center (which I advise you pick up a flapper wheel for a drill). Just needs to be enough to slip onto the hub. I want to say it took me about 15 minutes per disc to do, with me repeatedly checking.

    About the disc you have posted, I mean, it'll fit, and the lug bolts will hold it in place once the wheel is mounted. May slide around a bunch until you have the caliper setup. I'm not sure on the offset to the standard TT discs...

    Your bolt size may not work with those. Standard bolt sizes for the TT (and many other Audis) is 14x1.5x27 mm, meaning the diameter is 14 mm. If the bolt size is only 13.3 mm, your stock bolts won't fit on. So you'd have to drill them out (fairly easy to do), or find another disc.
