The other day leaving a local show(new england dustoff) something escaped from my block. I had a misfire under heavy load the day befor so I was babying it till I could figger it out had turn down boost turned off meth ect but alas this happened

So I've bought a junkyard motor with 107k know running warranty goodness

Now my question I plan to re seal the motor top to bottom. But with my set up (oem k04 plus meth epl tuned to what I'm told was about 450whp)should I do rod bolts, head studs and main studs from arp and should I look into a girdle?

    Thanks in advance

Saw your car at dod looked good. Id for sure do rods just to prevent future issues and it will give you room to grow from there. Griddle on ko4's not so much. Head studs honestly dont cost that much so why not

Are there any know fitment issues with the heads studs? I know the arp main studs require some clearance grinding.

What headstuds are you referring to? The ARP ones coming in at close to $400. Perhaps we just have different version of "cheap"

1st, other than the eurospec version, I have seen no evidence that a girdle does anything.

2nd, if your not going to make 550+wtq don't even think about a girdle as long as you are using a competent tuner that actually understands ME7.

3rd, install rods so you can enjoys the benefits of good fuel when you get the itch for more power.
