This turbo is a tough one to make it work with our cars. I know Mcpath tried it, you may want to ask him. There is currently no software for it either. So it would be big $$$ for a beta file. Your best bet currently is k04-15, GTRS eliminator, or Gt28R/RS.

Has anyone had success with the ATP GT2x kit yet ? I thought Revo had something for it ?

Are you sure you're not confusing the k04-23 for something else?

^^ well he does need different fueling methods other than the K04-15 software that's out due to the -23 pushing more air.

I'm sure he knew what he was talking about.

The k04-23 is basically just a tad beefier than a k04-15. I beleive this is the turbo that Dahlback modifies to make their custom k05.82 turbos and they sure do have s/w for it. I bet the code that Dejan is using on his custom k04 would work for this turbo as well.

For the record, Mario never had a k04-23, he had a k04 for a transverse application. I won't disclose it unless he wants to post it up since he wants to protect his tuners ideas. But in any event, the project didn't work because he couldn't get support from Revo so he dumped it in favor for the GTRS kit.

Your best bet on that would be to give Jeff Moss a call @ the Torque Factory 310-466-4296. He'll let you know if GIAC has any files that are compatible with that turbo.

Nice, I had no clue! Do you think it's at all possible to get the turbo and software separate instead of the whole kit shown? Is this Sportec software they use?

It's similar to MTM where for them to release the stage 3 s/w you need the complete kit. I can get stage 1 s/w easily.

Edit: Sportec does write s/w for their applications.

I'm looking into getting this setup-Complete with Cat too-

The Sportec Performance Stage 2 for the 1.8T manual transmission is a complete Swiss and TüV approved setup. Please email [email protected] for purchase information.

    Stage 2 includes:

    • Performance upgraded ECU software
    • KKK K04-23 turbocharger
    • Sport catalytic converter
    • High-performance exhaust system
    • 80mm diameter tailpipes with the laser etched Sportec-logo
    • Modified air intake filter
    • Optimized fuel injectors
    • Sport clutch & dual mass flywheel
    • Package includes performance tests

Idk what the intake filter is but oh well.

Sportec does write their own custom s/w
I tried to get Hoppen to separate an MTM 3+ kit after they first released it a while ago, but got denied. Too bad, but I guess there's potential in that turbo if a kit can be put together for a better price......since most of us already have a lot of the mods included in that kit (or similar mods).

Mike is tricky to work with. Build a relationship and he will be more apt to accommodate you. But honestly I think it's wise that they do that. I mean it's great way to keep and eye on how the kits perform. It eliminates variables and allows them to better serve the customer with troublshooting. Sportec has same idea in mind.

hell . . . just throw a K16 on . . . Borgwerner makes a direct bolt on K16 for our cars. At least that's what their product representatives told me on the phone when I got my K04. I was really tempted to go with it, but software was hard enough to get for the K04 when I put mine on a few years ago.

FWIW . . . the K16 was only about $80 more than the K04-015 at the time I got it. Something like 780 vs 699 . . . call BW direct.

The best bet is to go with a GTrs Eliminator and REVO programming right now...American tuners with American support. The AWE 28r kit would be nice also but it is not quite available.

EuroCode seems to be installing at least one GTrs Eliminator a week...who will be next?
