I'm not sure whose idea it was to make a mesh screen to absorb bugs and plant matter at high speeds, but it's getting nasty. Anyone found a good way to clean the thing?

I went thru a bug storm on my 500 mile ride home from the dealer. Simply cleaned off the big bits first then used a cloth with warm water to clean. The smell wasn't great but the results were good.
