Search the forum buddy. Lots on controversy over this. You'll probably want to ask the gentleman that goes by TurboBrian. His partner lacks a lot of information about the build.

What would you like to know? Just finished this one today. 561/460 11 psi 93 pump gas. I think it would make a little more, just felt it was nice and safe at 560, this Rs4 makes the same power as the first one but with 2 psi less boost. I'll have some video of it later or tomorrow.

Did you cut the subframe to fit these turbos?

I think if you search around you can find someone to do it for a lot less. There is a guy building single turbo kits for $5000 you can do a search on here.

Everything is done in-house at dtt. It was long project I'm glad to move onto some other stuff here. Got a lexus gs300 with 82mm turbo looking to make 1500 whp that I'm ready to get back into. 88 mm compound turbo Mustang with 4g63 swapped Evo 8 engine. Fun turbo stuff!

We have a fabrication subforum on this site -- I think everyone around here would appreciate some glamour shots of your fabrication on all your projects (not just VAG)

Amen to this. I'm sure if Brian handles the business and advertisement portion of the build too more people will be interested in doing this.
Looking forward to the video Brian. I think you should start a thread yourself and post all the results you have there that way its a quick all in one thread.

    And have never been happier

Very cool thread this is. Like, I do
Switched to Tesla and have never been happier. No more shady mechanic bills and excuses - oil top off before an oil change is normal or dealing with outdated forums that have image size limitations. And no more dealing with vendors that do not provide horsepower numbers but sell you random things by labeling them as performance parts. No more dealing with the Audi dealership and having to buy custom Audi specific tools. Wow. I can't believe I lived through all of this. Money pit.

That is interesting, we also never saw Mario's car go above 7500.

FWIW, I never had an issue with Brian and I think his fab work is pretty amazing. I also wish the new owner the best. I still don't agree with the TT route. My issues were always with Mario and his lies and embellishment, luckily he has quieted down with the BS. Also, none of this changes the fact that reliability of the kit is still pretty well unknown, but hopefully the new owner of the second kit will be a little more honest with people who ask him. He says he has plans to do a few strip outings and roll race events so let's hope he follows through. It will be cool to see real info this time around.

How did you solve the issue of the oil return being lower than the sump? Looks like both turbos tee into one return line. Curious about this because I've always seen gravity drain on turbos!

Just didnt rev it that high on that pull, it pulls clean to 8200. The power flatlined so there was no need to go that high. I dont always got to redline on every pull when on the dyno.

I had custom billet oil drains made, the pic you see was just temporary until I received them so we could run the car while we waited, The turbos as long as you can get the oil out of the center cartridge the pump will do the rest, It's all about the first 1" out of a turbo drain the oil is foamy so it will back up. As long as there is enough volume in the line -10 to -12 size the turbo will be happy. The pump actually pulls more oil than it receives so it does its job perfectly. The pump can be 5 feet higher than the turbos and still work perfectly.

How are turbo cars unreliable? Other than the fact that the location is not the most ideal place, but the only place to run on a full street trim car. I mean if someone wants me to cut the front end off the car and tube frame it I can put the turbos anywhere they want. I don't see it as really that bad, cars that are slammed to the ground sit lower than the turbos sit. You just have to be aware.

Ok read that wrong, yeah its not tested. Once we get 5-6 years on this turbo system then we can know if its a pile of crap. Until now its just guesswork.

as for reliability, only time will tell.

extensive , closed course , testing/endurance tests could speed up the process a lot though.

Yeah, idk what the issue is. It's not a product per say like you'd get from JHM or APR. It's a custom build. There are never guarantees on custom builds. You can say "but it's advertised on their site", but clearly the build is organic and changes from car to car. Some people just have to find something to complain about.

This is the correct answer. It would be truly awesome, (and I wonder if its even possible?) If you could somehow store two boost/fuel maps on the ECUs and switch between the two using the sport button (put that little green S on steroids!) Run like an 8-9 psi street tune for livability and then with S mode engaged bump it to like a 12-13 PSI "Warranty voider" tune. I've seen this done with standalone systems, and I know APR/Revo, etc. have created multiple modes for their smaller engine tunes, but I wonder what it would take to do the same with the dual ecu RS4?
