Weird scenario today. My car started without a problem this morning, I drove to get a coffee, it started after that, drove to work, and parked it around 9am.
Got out around 1pm and tried to start it and had trouble. Three tries later, it fired. Drove to lunch, and it wouldn't start afterwards. I'll I get is a single click when trying to turn it over. It doesn't even try to crank. I bump started it without a problem. Got it home and the same thing happened. Bump started it again and got it into the shop on the hoist.
It's on the hoist now, and I tried banging the starter to loosen it (thinking maybe it was just stuck), no dice. All I get is a click.
I've searched Google and have come up with very few answers. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm thinking it could be the clutch switch (which is a good place to start) and am dreading that it's the starter or ignition switch. I'm capable of doing the work, it's just that I need the car to get top and from work and can't afford any downtime. Any insight is greatly appreciated. Any quick fix ideas or suggestions of where to look for a common, simple issues would be welcome.
Thanks!
Lucy
